WHAT DOES FCCC BELIEVE?

GOD’S WORD

We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. It was written by human authors under the inspiration  and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is without error and that none can add to or take away from it.  2 Timothy 3:16;   2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Tim 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

GOD’S PERSON

We believe that there is only one true God who is the ruler and creator of this world and who has eternally existed in  three persons: the  Father,  the Son  and  the  Holy Spirit.  Gen 1:1,  26,27;  3:22;   Psalm  90:2; Matt 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthian 13:14.

God exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man and is the only one who can reconcile us to God. Each time we partake of communion we remember Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to demonstrate His power over death and sin.  He will come again to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. Matt 1:22, 23; Isa 9:6; John 1:1-5;  John 14:10-30;  Heb 4:14,15;  1 Corinthians 15:3-4;    Romans 1:3-4;  Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13.

GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN

We believe that man was made in the image and likeness of God but sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. Although mankind has a tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.”   Therefore   everyone is totally depraved and is in need of God’s spiritual salvation.  Gen 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2.

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God

No one can earn it but it is given to us by grace through faith. Man is forgiven and saved by making Jesus one’s Lord and Savior. John 3:16; Romans 6:23;   Eph.  2:8-9;  John 1:12; 14:6;   Titus 3:5; Gal 3:26; Romans 5:1.

We believe that whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  In order to receive forgiveness we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ and submit to His lordship for our lives. Salvation is through Jesus only. We believe though that Jesus justifies and sanctifies us through our obedience on Him. Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16

GOD’S PLAN FOR THE CHURCH

We believe God has individually equipped us and corporately gathered us as His living body so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to love God, love others, and share hope with the community in which we live and the world. Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 5:25-27; Jude 1:24

We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all who are born again are members. God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and powerful lives in order to help others more effectively. In order to live the holy, fruitful, and power-filled lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water, set our mind on Him and His purpose, and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:15-16)

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit manifesting for all eternity,  in the laying on of hands for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the receiving of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  (Acts 6:6, 8:17; 1 Timothy 4:14)

GOD’S PLAN FOR THE FUTURE

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised and will rule and reign on this earth. History will conclude as the wicked are judged and the righteous enter a new heaven and a new earth. Revelations   20:15 (hell); Matthew 25:41; Rev. 21:27 (heaven)

GOD’S ORDER OF THINGS

We believe that marriage has been ordained by God. We define “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by the church only to the extent that it is consistent with the definition of “marriage” as admonished in the Bible.
